Airports and Comfort

Photo via Tiny House Design and Dezeen.

More tiny spaces! Blame Tiny House Design, a site I adore (I get updates delivered to my email which I rarely do). These tiny cubes (and there are more on Dezeen) are rented by the hour in spaces like airports, bus terminals, event gatherings (can you say SXSW in its ridiculously exhausting Austin Convention Center?), etc. Love the idea, esp for folks stranded during weather season, BUT I have this question:

Given flight delays and cancellations and mother nature and terror-scares, why do airport seating areas all have ridiculously uncomfortable chairs that end in the middle of your back (lower if you are tall) as opposed to something you might actually doze in? It isn't as if we go to airports to loiter or that the homeless will gather there. A nice recliner or at least something wing-back style would be lovely and so much less insulting.
