Let Me Be the Lucky Woman Adam!

Good lord. Adam Lambert is as cool as a cucumber...funny, sensitive, insightful. I love "sexy is sexy, we're attracted to what we're attracted to." Honestly, he is going miles in helping people understand we have got to stop trying so damned hard to put labels on each other and stuff ourselves into boxes. And can he sing...wow.

Yeah, Yeah. I Know You've Seen It

Haven't cried at many weddings (actually, haven't been to many), but I did at this one. Wow! Never occurred to me how seriously we take the whole affair and how it is a celebration of two people in love! Why the hell shouldn't they be dancing their asses off...? What a great way to start off an attempt (sorry, cynic) at a life together! Will this viral video create a new line of work: wedding choreographers?

Here's to Jill and Kevin, as I wipe one more tiny one away:

Visual Deliciousness

This amazing work area is from here.

Had a bite with Xavier U art professor and sculptor, Kelly Phelps, this week who, along with his twin brother Kyle (University of Dayton art prof!) have made figurative sculptures depicting the working class ala Diego Rivera. They've sold their work to the likes of Michael Moore and Morgan Freeman. He educated me on skinhead culture (dude, you were right!) and gun culture (still think you're wrong). I, of course, educated him on my culture and blogging. All in all, a fascinating discussion with a new friend that had me both disturbed and delighted.

Giving some thought to...

Moving my identity permanently from MizKCreations blog to the Kelly Livesay blog. I use the business blog as a way to highlight my work, offer some inspiration and business advice, etc., but it is all about being "authentic". Am I authentic if I divide my self into business and professional when I don't really "have to". Not sure. My biggest client right now is lovely (i.e. he gives praise and pays well and on time). He is also a devout conservative Christian and Republican (look, I have to eat and I try not to judge him). Will he want to work with a lesbian who adores Marilyn Manson's persona and art? Hmmmm. What do YOU think?

Anyway, blog posts will have to cross from time to time while I decide. For those of you who didn't know, I have yet another blog called The Truth is Stranger which focuses on nonfiction and storytelling in print, film, radio and tv. A little Whole New Mind and a little This American Life. I started it because I wanted to pick the brains of authors on writing non-fiction as there are about 20 book ideas swirling around in my brain and only a few started (I get stuck on research).

The site has turned out pretty well, been picked up by Guy Kawasaki as one of the best film blogs and will start having interviews...something I do well. I tell you all of this because I wrote a fun little post over there I think you should read.

If you have input on blending the personal and professional, do let me know. Here's a sample of how I'd like it to work.
